Clinical Directors

Angela Ford is a Salisbury University alumni. Accepted into the advanced standing Masters program and graduated with a Master’s degree in social work in 2005.  Angela received her LCSW-C licensure in 2008.  In 2010 became certified with the Board of Social Work Examiners to be a supervisor for Licensed Graduate Social Workers (LGSW).  She works as a liaison with Salisbury University as a field supervisor for Master level students.  Angela has been working at Maple Shade since June 2005.  She began as the therapist working with clients who resided at three of Maple Shade’s Therapeutic group homes.  Angela had the opportunity to develop and implement a therapeutic milieu in the residence that was based off of Dr. Ross Greene’s work in “The Explosive Child”.  She continued her journey with providing school based therapy in the Wicomico County School system. Angela was promoted to Clinical Director of the Wicomico County Mental Health Clinic in 2010.  She now sits on the Wicomico County Multidisciplinary Committee.  Angela continues to serve children and adolescents while providing supervision and support to therapists working in the out patient mental health clinic.

Jessica Holloway-Hill joined the Maple Shade staff in May of 2007. She provided therapeutic services to the children and families in the Somerset County area. She completed her Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Psychology at Salisbury University in 2002. In May of 2004 she graduated from Salisbury University with her Master’s degree in Social Work. In October of 2009 she became licensed as a LCSW-C. She served as Supervisor for the Somerset County Maple Shade Clinic from 2008- 2010. At the current time she is the Clinical Director for Somerset County. She has worked in a variety of settings with children, families and groups. Specific areas of interest include: children and families, crisis intervention, and behavior management.

Heather Shelton joined our staff as a therapist in April of 2009. She provides school based mental health services in our Crisfield office. She completed her Bachelor’s of Arts in Social Work with a minor in Psychology from Salisbury University in May of 2003. In May of 2005 she graduated from Salisbury University’s Master of Social Work program. During this time she was president of Phi Alpha National Honor Society of Social Work Students, inducted in to Psi Chi National Honor Society in Psychology, a nominee for Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society in the Social Services, on Salisbury University's Deans List and received the State of Maryland’s Governor's Volunteer Services Certificate of Appreciation and Certificate of National Service. In August of 2009 she became licensed as a LCSW-C. She has worked in a variety of settings with children, families and groups. Her theoretical perspective is eclectic, but she primarily likes to use cognitive-behavioral therapy using a strength based and client centered approach. Specific areas of interest include: children and families, crisis intervention, behavior management, mood disorders and resiliency. She is located at Woodson Elementary during the school year. Tonya O'Hara joined our staff as a therapist in May of 2010. She provides school based mental health services in our Princess Anne office. She completed her Bachelor’s of Arts in Social Work from Salisbury University in May of 2003. In May of 2009 she graduated from Salisbury University’s Master of Social Work program. During this time she interned at Wicomico High school in the behavioral management class and also the mental health unit in PRMC hospital. In April 2013 she became licensed as a LCSW-C. Her main interest of population is adolescents and teenagers using primarily cognitive behavioral therapy and reality based therapy. img Ashley Phillips joined the Maple Shade staff in July of 2011 as a school-based therapist in Somerset County. She graduated from Salisbury University with her Masters in Social Work in May 2011 and received her LCSW-C in 2013. In 2015 she became an approved social work supervisor with the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners to supervise License Graduate Social Workers toward advanced licensure. She specializes in youth populations and is mainly in the elementary school with children in grades K-5. Ashley’s theoretical perspective includes Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Dialectical Behavioral Theory, Solution Focused Therapy, and Person Centered Therapy. Her other areas of interested include behavior modification, resiliency, and family therapy. Ms. Peggy Allen, LGPC started her journey with Maple Shade years ago working at one of their Therapeutic Group Homes. After the closing of the Therapeutic Group Home in 2013, she joined the PRP Team providing community services to children and adolescents. Ms. Peggy has been working on obtaining her License to be a Professional Counselor. She obtained her LGPC in February 2021. Ms. Peggy Allen transitioned over to the Clinic team in July 2021. She now provides therapy to children and adolescents in Wicomico County. She specializes in CBT, person centered and behavioral counseling. She also does family therapy in the evenings. Cindi Verges, LCSW-C, joined our staff in June 2015. She obtained her Master's Degree in Social Work from Salisbury University. Cindi has seven years experience working with children as an early childhood provider. She also has two years experience interning with children, families, and vulnerable adults. Her theoretical approach is eclectic, as she uses person-centered, strengths, and systems based perspectives with cognitive-behavioral, solution focused, and play therapies. Currently, Cindi is completing play therapy training and hopes to become a Registered Play Therapist by 2020. She is currently serving clientele at Princess Anne Elementary, Greenwood Elementary, Somerset Intermediate, Washington High, and Maple Shade's Princess Anne Clinic.

Stephanie James, LCSW-C, has been with Maple Shade since 2013. She started as an intern in the Treatment Foster Care (TFC) Program for her BA degree, and continued as an intern in Somerset County for her MSW at Salisbury University. She graduated from Salisbury University’s Advanced Standing Program with her Master’s degree in Social Work in May 2015. During her time at SU, she was a member of Phi Alpha Honor Society, and is currently a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Stephanie has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Her theoretical perspective includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Strength’s Perspective. Toni Huffman, LCSW-C joined the Maple Shade team in 2016. She graduated from Salisbury University with her Masters degree in Social Work in May 2014. Toni is a school based therapist in Wicomico County, and primarily works with children and adolescent focusing on providing cognitive behavioral therapy and solution based therapists to individuals, families, and groups. Toni specializes in behavioral therapy, CBT and person-centered practice. Toni also does after school groups with her clients.

Amanda (Mandy) Eberly, LCSW-C joined the Wicomico County staff in January 2017. She graduated from Salisbury University with her Master's in Social Work in May 2015. Mandy currently provides school-based therapy at schools in Wicomico County. She utilizes the strengths-based-approach and humanistic therapy with her clients. Samantha Kurtz, LCSW-C joined Maple Shade staff in August 2017 as a school-based therapist in Wicomico County. Samantha graduated from Towson University in 2009 with a Bachelor's in Family Studies and then graduated in 2012 with her Master's of Social Work from University of Maryland Baltimore, School of Social Work. She has previous experience working with the Department of Social Services in the Foster Care and Child Protective Services units. She was also a School Social Worker for Dorchester County Public Schools and the High Road School. Samantha utilizes Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help children and adolescents with anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral concerns, as well as trauma and stress-related disorders. Stephanie Vlahos, LMSW joined the Maple Shade team in June 2019. She earned her BA in Psychology from Salisbury University in May 2015. She started at Maple Shade as an intern in August 2018 while completing the MSW program at Salisbury University. After graduating with her Master of Social Work degree in May 2019, she was hired as a school-based therapist in Wicomico County. Stephanie's utilizes a strengths-based and person-centered approach with her clients.

Destinee Geoghegan, LMSW joined the Maple Shade team in February of 2016 as a PRP Caseworker after receiving her BA in Psychology at Salisbury University in 2015. Destinee returned back to Salisbury University to earn her Masters in Social Work, Destinee also completed her internship with us as well during this time. After graduating with her Masters in May of 2019, Destinee was hired as a School-Based Therapist in Princess Anne, Maryland. Destinee enjoys working with the youth and incorporates creativity in her practice. Her theoretical perspectives for working with individuals and their families include the following: Strengths-Based Perspective, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions-Focused Therapy, and Reality-Based Therapy.

Courtney Ager LMSW Courtney Ager, LMSW, graduated from Wor-Wic Community College in 2018 for Chemical Dependency Counseling. I transferred to Salisbury University right away where I graduated with a Masters in Social Work in 2020. I have experience in different populations but specialize in children and adolescents using a strengths based perspective, cognitive behavioral therapy, reality-based and solution focused therapy. Samantha Daneman, LMSW, joined Maple Shade staff in November of 2021 as a school-based therapist in Wicomico County. Samantha graduated from Salisbury University in 2014 with a Bachelor's in Sociology and Conflict Analysis and Dispute Resolution. She then graduated in 2021 with her Master's of Social Work from Salisbury University. She has previous experience working with both children and adults with disabilities. Samantha utilizes a person-centered approach along with CBT and play therapy to help her clients. Jennifer Richardson, LMSW joined the Maple-Shade family in January 2022. She graduated with her Master’s in Social Worker in 2020. Jennifer currently provides school-based therapy in Wicomico County. She has worked with children and adults for the past few years and has lot of experience working with children and adolescents with suicidal ideation and crisis in the home. Aubrey Spadin LMSW

Aubrey Spadin, LMSW joined the Maple Shade team in June 2021 as a residential respite counselor. She earned her BA in Social Work from Salisbury University in May 2021. She started at Maple Shade as an intern in August 2021 while completing the MSW program at Salisbury University. After graduating with her Master of Social Work degree in May 2022, she was hired as a school-based therapist in Wicomico County. Aubrey utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy, with focuses on Person-Centered, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Relational Therapy to foster insight and self-discovery at a pace determined by her clients. Kerry Draus joined our staff in July 2022 as a Somerset County Therapist. She provides school and clinic based mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults in our Crisfield area. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Kutztown University in May of 2011. She attended Rowan University and earned her Master of Arts in Counseling in Educational Settings in 2013. She went on to attend Liberty University in 2019 to earn the additional credits needed to obtain a clinical license. Kerry became licensed in Maryland in May 2022 as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). Kerry has a varied educational and counseling background, which has given her the opportunity to work with children, adolescents and adults from various age groups, backgrounds, and with a variety of issues. Kerry has extensive experience providing in-home and school-based services to children and families. Kerry utilizes evidence based behavioral interventions, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and a Person Centered approach when working with her clients. Kerry is located at Somerset Intermediate School as well as Crisfield High School.
