The relationship between a client and psychotherapist is protected by law, and we do not disclose any information without explicit written consent, except under certain circumstances as required by law.

Under no circumstances will Maple Shade Youth and Family Services sell, trade, or distribute client information to third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.

  • Suspected Abuse: If there is suspected child, dependent adult, or elder abuse, we are mandated by law to report it to the appropriate authorities.
  • Threats of Harm to Others: If a client poses a serious threat of harm to others, we are required to notify law enforcement and inform the intended target(s).
  • Threats of Self-Harm: If a client is in danger of self-harm, we will make every effort to collaborate with them to ensure their safety. If they are unwilling to cooperate, we will take legally permitted measures to protect them, even if it involves disclosure without their consent.

Text Messaging Terms and Conditions

  1. SMS Consent Communication: The phone numbers obtained as part of the SMS consent process will not be shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
  2. Types of SMS Communications: Clients who have consented to receive text messages from Maple Shade Youth and Family Services may receive messages related to:
    • Appointment reminders (Example: "This is a reminder of your appointment with Dr. [Name] at Mardela Springs Office of Maple Shade on 2/07 at 3:30pm. Reply STOP to opt out of SMS messaging at any time." 
    • Follow-up messages (Example: "Maple Shade Youth and Family Services has sent your lab work request to [Lab Clinic] on Milford St. Reply STOP to opt out of SMS messaging at any time.")
    • Billing inquiries (Example: "Please review your insurance eligibility and update Maple Shade Youth and Family Services with any new information. Reply STOP to opt out of SMS messaging at any time.")
    • Service updates (Example: "Your 2/8/25 Appt has been rescheduled to 2/15/25 at 10am at Maple Shade Youth and Family Services office in Mardela Springs. Reply STOP to opt out of SMS messaging at any time.")
  3. Message Frequency: Message frequency may vary depending on the type of communication. Clients may receive up to 6 SMS messages per week regarding their appointments, billing, or other service-related updates.
  4. Potential Fees for SMS Messaging: Standard message and data rates may apply, depending on the client’s carrier pricing plan.
  5. Opt-In Method: Clients may opt-in to receive SMS messages by:
    • Filling out a paper form
    • Filling out an online form
    • Verbally providing consent
  6. Opt-Out Method: Clients may opt-out at any time by replying "STOP" to any SMS message received or by contacting one of our offices directly. To opt back in, reply "START."
